Open since December 2021, Dawnies (previously known as The Wooden Box Gallery and Cafe), is a welcoming, exciting gallery that focuses on bringing interesting art to Ramsgate High Street.
The Gallery celebrates and welcome artists who are at all stages of their art journey; who are from all walks of life, all backgrounds, all ages, have all different reasons for making art and utilise all different ways of making art. It has a special focus on putting on group exhibitions that cover a wide range of topics that are interesting, relevant and inspirational to the many people who visit.
The Gallery and Café not only offers a wide range of exhibitions but have a full diary of friendly social meet ups for all ages of people to drop in, learn a skill, make some friends or just have a chat – these include chess clubs, book groups, crafting sessions, music groups and various informal support groups.
Offering a wide range of light lunches, delicious cakes and superb speciality coffee. Feel free to drop in and ask staff about social events, upcoming exhibitions and also their wide range of vegan, vegetarian and home cooked classics.
Both the Gallery and Cafe have a wide range of free events, gatherings, pop ups and interest groups so please check social media or email for more information.
The Gallery and Cafe are always welcoming ideas, teachers, researchers and session leaders to submit their plans to hold groups at the spaces.
