1st June 2022

The long, hazy, summer evenings are just marvelous, aren’t they? As the Kent skies burst with a flourish of picturesque pinks, vibrant oranges and glistening golds, so does our Instagram feed! We’ve selected our favourite sunset shots from Instagram to celebrate the upcoming longest day of the year (on the Tuesday 21st June, to be exact!), so you can take in those vibrant views wherever you are in the world...

Rolling hills and glorious greenery

We spy a spectacular sunset! @visiontanquilo laced up his exploring boots and went on the hunt for scenic skies- and oh wow did the adventure pay off! Not only does our charming county boast an abundance of seaside sunset spots, but it also offers the perfect place to gaze as glorious greens meet glistening golds. With miles of wide-open spaces and rolling hills, Kent really does have it all!

Pretty in pink

Picturesque pinks as far as the eye can see! Words just can’t do this perfect photograph justice. David Wooley (@veryregal) captured this flawless moment when the sunset met with the UK’s only desert, Dungeness, and we absolutely adore the outcome! But then again, delightful Dungeness doesn’t have a bad angle to be seen!

Stunning sunsets meet beautiful beaches

Sunsets, seagulls, and sea views, now there’s a perfect recipe for an insta-worthy snap! Kent’s charming coastline really is the ideal place to watch the sunset meet the horizon, and this stunning photograph taken by @ameliapettman truly highlights our county’s effortless beauty.

Ravishing reflections

There’s really no need to reflect on why this picture-perfect photograph of Romney Marsh has made our list! Nathan Hammonds (@nathanhammonds_photography on Instagram) was lucky enough to spot this striking sunset as it drifted away behind St. Thomas Becket Church, and we’re lucky enough to be able to share his beautiful picture! With views like these, it’s not hard to see why Kent makes a sensational spot to soak in those sunsets!

A dose of heritage

You wouldn't be wrong to assume Dover is best known for its fascinating past, steeped in rich history. Aside from its military links, 11th-century castle, and iconic white cliffs (quite the impressive résumé we know!), Dover also doubles as the perfect backdrop for a scenic evening, as demonstrated beautifully by @ragammos.dji in this lovely photograph.

A touch of colour

We at Visit Kent are regular fans of Mike Walker's Instagram feed, and with this striking shot of Reculver Towers, it's not hard to see why! The pastel skies, flourishing colours and perfect composition of this photograph make it truly worthy of a place on our list!
