What a year 2022 has been, filled with stunning landscapes of Kent with a little help from the beautiful weather we had this summer! We just love looking back at our most popular posts of the past year. Sit back and get excited as we think that 2023 will be a picturesque year…

Walking on water

Doesn’t this image of Whitstable beach just make you want to relax? We love an image as calm and relaxing as this one to really put us in that #MondayMotivation, and obviously you do too as this was our top most liked Instagram post of the year! Filled with blinding blue skies and scenic surroundings, Whitstable is one of those picturesque scenic surroundings perfect for coastal explorers or for those romantics.

Sunrise at Whitstable

There’s nothing like sitting on Whitstable beach early in the mornings and watching the sunrise! The coast is definitely a place to visit all year round with family and friends, visit the beach, play in the arcades, explore the beach towns and eat in the amazing cafes that are to offer. Not only this but did you know that Whitstable will be spotted in the new film Whitstable Pearl that will be released this year!

Tenterden

Also known as the ‘Jewel of the Weald’, Tenterden is surrounded by the beautiful countryside and a vibrant high street filled with many independent businesses. It is well known for its picturesque tree-lined heritage high street, definitely a place for those Instagrammable pictures! Home to Chapel Down Vineyard and the Kent and East Sussex Railway this is somewhere to add to your 2023 bucket list.

Full moon at Reculver

Here is our most popular #MidweekMystery photo which was Reculver in Herne Bay and what a beautiful sight it is! With many pictures of the ruins of St Mary’s Church you really do need to explore it yourself to capture the beauty. Take a stroll along the Reculver walk and explore the wildlife on the marshes and the rare cliff top wildflower meadows throughout the year. Canterbury

I just love this image of Canterbury Cathedral peeping the over top of the houses down one of the side roads with the stunning colours of the houses leading us down the path. Stroll down the high street and explore the variety of shops from local to retail businesses. Take a look at the Cathedral and admire the medieval stained glass windows, carved tombs, or the cloisters and green spaces. Canterbury really does have a lot to offer!

Folkestone Harbour Arm

This is the first reel in this top nine and you definitely chose the best one to like! This video really does capture the stunning parts of Folkestone Harbour Arm and what there is to do and what the town has to offer. Wanderlustchloe and anadventurousworld got to spend a day exploring Folkestone and took part in adventure golf on the arm and sipped on some champagne at the lighthouse champagne bar. Looking for that picturesque location? This is one to add to your bucket list not only in the summer for the beach but around Christmas time with the beautiful Christmas Markets.

Sunset at Botany Bay

No introduction is needed for this stunning picture! Botany Bay isn’t just our top Instagrammable location but is one of Kent’s most photographed bays. Known for its hidden gems offering stunning views of the white cliffs and the beautiful chalk stacks. Explore the beach looking for fossils or venture through the rock pools and see what sealife you can find. I just love the reflection of the sky in this capture!

Crack open those oysters

Don’t you think that seafood always tastes better in Whitstable? Well that’s because it does! Here is another reel that you guys really liked, 1,144 times to be precise… but who’s counting. If you haven’t been to Whitstable then I hope we have convinced you, not only do we think this is an Instagrammable location to visit but our followers obviously do too as this is the 3rd post about Whitstable that has made it in our top nine liked posts!

Relaxing on the river

We can tell that you all really like the #MondayMotivation posts as this is the 3rd one out of the top nine liked Instagram posts of 2022 and we are ending on the beautiful capture of the River Stour in Canterbury. This spot can be found on the Canterbury Highstreet and easy to access. Take a guided tour on the river with Canterbury Historic River Tours and find out about the history of the town and enjoy the gentle adventure.
