Open call for a new exhibition by Beach Creative
Continuing our current series of open shows of single word themes found in art: Window.
Windows have been a significant trope for hundreds of years, from Botticelli’s annunciation to Marcel Duchamp’s Fresh Widow, it has been a device that most artists have used. Art is about seeing and about light, so are windows. Windows give you license to look out, or in, from one dimension to another. They present the artist with the opportunity to construct an image within an image. Consider - Vermeer would have been utterly lost without a window. So we hope to see drawings, paintings, sculptures and photographs of open windows, French windows, barred windows, sash windows, windows with curtains thrown wide, landscapes through windows, broken windows, oriole windows and Bay windows. All that and more!
Submissions will be on the Thursday 3rd of July between 1pm and 4pm, for all details please visit our website https://www.beachcreative.org/exhibitions
