A unique non-profit exhibition of uplifting artwork is coming to Bluewater from 28th September until 1st November 2021. The pop-up exhibition will showcase work in a range of mediums from artists across Kent.
The exhibition is the brainchild of Ewa Page, a Bluewater restaurant manager and artist, who was inspired by the consequences of COVID-19. The Under the Rainbow committee also includes artist, bespoke picture framer, and member of the Fine Art Trade Guild, Alison Ridley, and talented young artist, Erika Roberta Notarianni.
Under the Rainbow put out an open call to artists across Kent, with the aim of encouraging emerging amateur artists, as well as professionals, to apply. The committee also read each artist’s background to see how art had helped their mental well-being during lockdown.
There are over 60 artists exhibiting, including: Gretel Warner, Jayne Wright, Jo Turner-Rowe, Lilia Orlova Holmes, Louise Arnold, Matt Wass and Nicola Suckling. The exhibition will a great variety of mediums, including: paint, ink, pencil, mixed media, ceramics, glass, textiles and sculpture.
The event will be free to visit and will be open daily from 11 am – 7pm in Bluewater’s Lower Rose Gallery (next to the O2 shop). All the art exhibited will be for sale, with 100% of the proceeds going to each individual artist.
