Summer Has Arrived at Westwood Cross

23rd July - 1st September 2025

The one-stop for the ultimate summer wardrobe

With summer in full swing, Westwood Cross is the go-to destination for everything from holiday must-haves, weekend-ready style, and fun festival beauty. Browse breezy fashion, sandals and accessories at Next, River Island and New Look, pick up travel minis and sun protection from Boots and Superdrug, which earlier this year underwent an upgrade so shoppers can indulge in beauty services like brow shaping, lashes and nails for a polished pre-holiday look.

With Margate Pride on 9th August and a packed lineup of live music at Dreamland, it’s also the perfect time to stock up on festival-ready fashion, face glitter, and bold accessories at Westwood Cross – ideal for getting into the spirit of summer.

Take a walk on the wild side with the roar-some Dino Discovery Trail

Get ready for a Jurassic-sized adventure as Westwood Cross’s much-loved Dino Discovery Trail makes a stomping return - and this year, it’s bigger, bolder, and more roar-some than ever before. Families are invited to step back in time and track down a fearsome line-up of prehistoric giants hiding across the centre. From gentle giant Bernard the Parasaurolophus and fierce queen Camilla the Stegosaurus to the centre’s legendary T-Rex duo, Boris and Napoleon. The free trail is the perfect day out for dino-loving explorers of all ages, with fun facts and photo ops waiting at every turn. The dinosaurs will remain in residence throughout the school holidays, giving guests plenty of time to roam with the reptiles all the way through to November 2025.

Soak up the sounds of summer at the Busk Stop

Westwood Cross is tuning into summer with a vibrant line-up of live performances at its dedicated Busk Stop – a designated spot to bring energy, atmosphere, and local talent to the centre throughout the warmer months and beyond. Guests can enjoy performances from local favourites including singers Phoebe McNamara and Tara Ashman, as well as crowd-pleasing saxophonist Matt Crawley, who’ll be bringing smooth, feel-good vibes to Westwood Cross. The Busk Stop is also open to new and emerging performers, with musicians invited to register their interest in claiming a performance slot. Guests are encouraged to visit the Westwood Cross website for full details and upcoming schedules.

All-weather entertainment for the whole family

With more than just great shopping, Westwood Cross is a one-stop destination for family-friendly fun whatever the weather. Guests can enjoy an action-packed day at Jump Inc, home to trampolines, laser tag, inflatables and more, or hit the lanes at Hollywood Bowl for classic competitive fun. For a more laid-back experience, the VUE cinema offers the perfect escape from rainy summer afternoons or a welcome break from the Broadstairs sunshine. With something to suit all ages and interests, Westwood Cross makes it easy to turn a day out into a memorable experience.

Savour the sunshine and dine al fresco

Soak up the atmosphere while enjoying a delicious meal outdoors. From wood-fired pizzas and Prosecco at Ask Italian, to the bold, authentic tastes of Thai Village, or the relaxed, all-day dining experience at Riparo Lounge, there’s something to suit every appetite. For those seeking quicker bites, popular favourites like McDonald’s, Greggs, and Taco Bell offer convenient and tasty options.

Fran Donovan, Centre Director at Westwood Cross said, “Summer has well and truly arrived in Thanet, and we are excited to welcome guests to enjoy everything Westwood Cross has to offer.” “Our 20th anniversary celebrations continue into the summer, with plenty of live music, events, and entertainment on the cards to ensure everyone can make long lasting memories during the season of sunshine. We look forward to making this summer one to remember for all our guests”.
