A Georgian town house with an Edwardian extension and a large garden in Ramsgate is opening to the public for Heritage Open Days.
Open Saturday - Sunday 11am-4pm
See the restoration of the main house, including a beautiful staircase, panelling and fireplaces uncovered after hiding for many years. Uncover the secret staircase - behind a wardrobe the owners discovered an intact staircase with traces of 1820s Regency wallpaper.
See the huge basement room, which contains evidence of reinforcement because it was used as an air raid shelter for local people during WWII. There are 14 brick-built dog kennels in the garden, left from when the building was home to Plunketts the vets.
