Upstairs are the four bedrooms and two bathrooms. This family friendly holiday home really does cater for children, with toys and books, children’s crockery and cutlery and a travel cot and highchair. And your four-legged friend is also welcome to join the family holiday. Whitstable is very dog-friendly with large stretches of the beach accessible all year round, and many cafes and pubs welcome dogs. Whitstable is a vibrant and buzzing seaside town, full of history and charm with a working harbour and fish market. It has a thriving art scene with lots of galleries showing the work of local artists, a great live music scene in the local pubs and some great cafes and restaurants serving contemporary dishes including of course oysters which made Whitstable famous. Please note that the house next door to Flamingo House is currently having an extension built to the rear of the property, which may be noisy at times.
The aptly named Peace Cottage provides a calm and peaceful place to relax and unwind. Located on Whitstable’s popular Island Wall, the cottage is set back from the street and whilst it is just a few steps to the beach and only a few more to the vibrant town centre, the cottage is a little haven, especially when in the pretty cottage garden. It even has sea views from two of the bedrooms. The cottage has a cosy sitting room, and a large open plan kitchen / dining room with bifold doors that open out onto the garden, creating a fabulous sociable area for relaxing and entertaining with family and friends. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor and another bedroom on the second floor. Both Kingsize bedrooms benefit from luxury memory foam mattresses made by Emma. Peace Cottage is perfectly located between the seafront and the high street with its abundance of friendly and lively cafes, restaurants, pubs and boutique shops. Whitstable also has a thriving arts scene and live music is a popular feature in many of the pubs
The Wicket is a delightful holiday home nestling in the beautiful Alkham valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Just 15 minutes from the coast and 25 minutes from the historic City of Canterbury, and surrounded by miles of countryside footpaths, this charming house has everything you could ask for a fabulous family holiday, and an ideal touring base for walkers, cyclists, golfers and general explorers! The true highlight of the house is the garden which has been lovingly tended by the owner and is full of fruit trees, shrubs and flowering plants offering year-round beauty. The garden is large and fully enclosed so perfect for visiting dogs. There are winding paths leading to the different parts of the garden, a pretty summerhouse, and two patios, one with dining table and chairs and the other with sofas and a firepit for relaxing. Another highlight is the large sitting room, which has a cosy Autumn/Winter section with rich, warm colours and an open fireplace and then the Spring/Summer section, furnished in light colours, overlooking the lovely garden and with French doors onto the patio. The house is a short stroll to the Marquis of Granby, a 200 year old pub serving food and drink, and the house also overlooks a large green and play park so ideal for children and for exercising the family dog.
