‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…’ and there is one very important Christmas tradition we can rely on – our towns and cities will be illuminated with twinkling Christmas lights through the whole season, bringing a bit of sparkle on a winter’s day! Upgrade your wanders and shopping visits by looking up to see these magical sights – hot chocolate in hand not required, but definitely recommended…

Canterbury

The countdown is ready! Christmas is coming to Canterbury town on Saturday 12th November, hosting a range of festive activities and celebrations bringing you that Christmas joy. Enjoy live music from Robbie White at 6 pm in front of the Westgate Towers and then follow the parade, led by beautiful glowing lanterns carried by young local makers to Whitefriars. The festive lights will switch on at each section whilst the parade moves through the streets along with live music from No Limits Streets Band, seasonal characters as well as a giant Father Christmas. The parade will take you round into Rose Square by Primark where you will be welcomed by KMFM Radio Presenters Garry and Chelsea ready for the countdown. Bring along your own lanterns and fairy lights and make Canterbury streets sparkle! Wander around the Christmas Markets which are open until 10am (some shut at 8pm) and stock up on those gifts and festive treats. Don’t forget to head down the side streets around the Cathedral Quarter to take your Instagram-worthy shots!
