Hello foodies, we thought we’d find you here…

We all know Kent's history runs deep with fascinating historical buildings, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a stunning coastline. So throw delicious restaurants into the mix and you could say we’ve got it all…a complete Kent concoction if you will! Well, you foodies will certainly be pleased because you’re about to delve deeper into the food and drink lifestyle here in Kent, with a few mouth-watering dishes on the menu…

Curious Brewery

We’re getting straight to it with the Curious Brewery in Ashford. There’s a selection of mouth-watering dishes on the menu, sourced locally to celebrate Kent’s local ingredients and with a secret curious ingredient… From steaks, fish and burgers to pizzas, salads and sides, trust us, you won’t be leaving here with an empty belly!

Port Lympne - The Garden Room

We’ve got another restaurant that does Kent proud with its locally sourced ingredients from an exceptional range of Kent produce and what if we told you this restaurant is nestled within 15 acres of landscaped gardens, surrounded by 600 acres of wilderness, with the world’s most rare and endangered animals – we are of course talking about The Garden Room at Port Lympne! With menus created by Executive Chef Lee Edney, which includes a sprinkle of flavour and a dash of deliciousness, this restaurant is definitely one to check out!

Rochester Restaurants

We couldn’t not include some of the delicious gems of Rochester, especially as these restaurants were winners of the 2021 Rochester Food & Drink Awards!

First up we have ‘Best Fine Dining Restaurant’ which was awarded to Café Nucleus (they were also winners of the 2021 Hospitality Business of the year and 2020 Café of the year for the Taste of Kent awards!) Visit this little gem and you’ll find yourself surrounded by a colourful and inviting atmosphere, which makes the perfect spot to catch up with friends over a brunch or afternoon tea.

Next we have ‘Best Casual Restaurant’ which was won by Chuck & Blade Burgers. Now if you always find yourself drifting toward a juicy burger when you’re browsing a menu, then this is the place to go! From classic Cheeseburgers and Halloumi and Honey Monsters to Veggie Cray and Hugh Plant – there really is a burger for everyone!

Shozna took home the award for ‘Best International Restaurant’ for serving up a delicious variety of Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine to suit the taste of their guests. There’s a warm and elegant setting, making this the ideal restaurant to dine with friends and family, or for special occasions and celebrations!

Folkestone Harbour Arm

How could we not mention all the delicious foodie restaurants located on the Folkestone Harbour Arm?! Picture this…the sun is shining, you’re surrounded by the stunning scenery of the coast, and you’re indulging in delicious food from your favourite harbour restaurant…sounds like the place to be! With so many traders, from A Taste of Thailand at The Goods Yard to the newly-opened Portinio at the Harbourside.

Keep a look out for our new feature coming in the next few weeks which dives head first into all the new restaurant openings at Folkestone Harbour Arm!

Canterbury Favourites

Oh yes, that’s right, we’ve got some of Canterbury’s favourite restaurants that you need to know about (that’s if you don’t already!) that are scattered around the district. There’s The Sportman in Seasalter with their delicious five course Tasting Menu, The Fordwich Arms and their Michelin-starred status and The Bridge Arms with their local yummy produce – three must-visit restaurants for when you’re out and about in Canterbury. Oh, whilst you’re there, be sure to check out The Goods Shed and their amazing farmers’ market!

The Pig at Bridge Place

The Pig at Bridge is well worth a mention in our top restaurants feature! The menus are driven by their Kitchen Gardens as they forage suitable supplies to create the fresh dishes on their menu… and with easy access to local produce, like fish, brewed beer, meats, fruits and award-winning wine, there’s no doubt in saying they have the freshest ingredients in their dishes.

Seriously, take a look for yourself!
