The Sinden is situated within the grounds of Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre, a stone’s throw from historical Tenterden Town. It was originally opened in 2004 and named after its patron, the actor and former local resident, the late Sir Donald Sinden CBE.
The Sinden is a 290 seated venue with 210 being accommodated on our brand new state of the art retractable tiered seating system. The venue is used for a wide range of events from local amateur dramatics performances, conferences and comedy clubs, to professional events, dance shows, live music and cinema showings.
The fantastic auditorium space can be converted into a number of different seating styles and the staging can be altered to fit different events. The Sinden Bar and Terrace have recently been renovated and our fully licensed bar serves everything from soft drinks to alcoholic beverages. A wide variety of snacks and treats are on offer and local artisan ice cream producer- Taywells is stocked.
Parking on site is free, and accessible, blue badge parking is available directly outside of the venue. The auditorium is equipped with a Sennheiser infra-red induction loop system for the hearing impaired, and wheelchair spaces are available.
