Award winning NorthDown Brewery opened in 2018 and is Margate's first working brewery for over 50 years.
Among their interesting and varied roster of beers is 'Pale Ale Mary' which won Beer of The Year at the Taste of Kent Awards in 2020, and Merry Margate awarded Bronze in the CAMRA Beer Festival. You will find NorthDown Beers in many of the local restaurants and pubs as well as bottle shops and cafes around Thanet.
If you have an interest in beer then a trip to the brewery is a must and organised beer tastings are often available or can be booked as a private event. On Fridays and Saturdays you can sup beers, freshly poured from the cask or take away from the Tap Room shop. You can enjoy some delicious food while there, and have a large area for seating both in and outside.
