16th November 2022

After the wonderful performance of our Lionesses in the Euros during the summer of 2022, it’s time for the men’s team to try and Bring it Home too! With the World Cup being played throughout the end of November and into December, there’s a number of locations in Kent showing the tournament live, with some pretty special settings. It’s worth noting that due to the time difference, some games from other countries will show from 10am, but the majority of England’s games will be shown at 7pm – with England playing against Iran, the USA and Wales in their first group games.

Curious Brewery, Ashford

Just as they did with the Euros, Curious Brewery in Ashford will be showing the Home Nations World Cup games live in their contemporary Taproom. With the freshest beers possible, as they’re made right here on site, you can sip and take in the Three Lions’ games in some curiously cool settings. In addition to the regular Curious favourites on tap, there'll also be a special USA vs. England beer-off ready for the big match on 25th November, so get ready to cast your vote for the winning beer.

Shepherd Neame’s pubs

With locations throughout Kent, our famed Kentish local brewer will of course be showing a host of World Cup games in a raft of their pubs, from the Alma and the Limes in Faversham to the White Horse in Hawkinge and Singleton Barn in Ashford. Not only will you be able to get into the heat of the games with the warm comfort of the pubs which all offer freshly pulled pints brewed just down the road, and some traditional pub fayre, but they’ve got special ‘It’s Coming Home’ ale and new ‘Back-of-the-net’ burgers. Find the full list of pubs showing the games here!

Folkestone Harbour Arm

With an unprecedented view across the English Channel, Folkestone’s Harbour Arm is certainly no bad place to watch the games! Showing all three of England’s first matches, the Arm will have tables available for groups of six, with some being sheltered and heated in case it gets nippy. If you’re there for future games (which hopefully England will be too) that fall on a Saturday, indulge in catering from the Christmas markets, which are open every weekend through the festive period.

Kent University – Woody’s

One for the students of Canterbury – the University of Kent’s Woody’s bar is going to be hosting all of England’s first round games (and more if we get through!). They also know we are a united country and won’t be misrepresenting our neighbours to the west so will be showing the Wales games too. Take a look at their events calendar for more info, which will be updated with new games as and when they happen!

Isaac Newell: More than a Name

While it might not be a live match, the Guildhall Museum in Rochester is hosting the free ‘Isaac Newell: More than a Name’ which exhibits an important piece of international football history of the Medway boy who was an inspiration for football in Argentina. Learn more about the famous 119 year history of the club, and how someone from Medway shaped the football culture in Argentina, and equally the rivalry between England and Argentina on the international pitch.
