Step Behind the Scenes with Southeastern

Where: Ashford Train Maintenance Centre, Ashford

This one’s a real behind-the-scenes gem. For one day only, Southeastern is opening up their Ashford depot as part of Railway 200, and you’re invited! Explore the maintenance sheds, climb aboard heritage trains (yes, including the gorgeous Clan Line steam engine), and meet the teams that keep Kent’s railways running.

You’ll also get the chance to see Network Rail kit, ride mini trains, meet a real racing driver, and browse the Hornby stand for all your model railway dreams. Kids will love the rides, grown-ups will love the nostalgia, and everyone gets a brilliant day out.
