The Great Ocean Egg-Sploration

28th March - 19th April 2026
The Historic Dockyard Chatham

Help Horatio the Sea Hare save the ocean eggs at The Historic Dockyard Chatham this Easter.

Oh no! This Easter a powerful current has swept through the Historic Dockyard and scattered precious eggs from the sea creatures featured in Ocean Photographer of the Year across the ‘yard.

If they are not found in time, they could be lost before they hatch. The race is on!

Meet Horatio the Sea Hare

Horatio is the ocean’s Easter Bunny. Instead of hiding chocolate eggs, Horatio lays long, curly ribbons of real ocean eggs and helps his ocean friends protect their nests.

But the current has caused a commotion in the ocean and now eggs from Horatio’s friends have been carried far and wide.

Horatio needs brave ocean explorers to help bring them home. Is that you?

Your mission:

Search the Historic Dockyard for missing ocean eggs.

Each egg belongs to a different sea creature and holds an egg-citing fact about how they protect their eggs in the wild.

How to play:

  • Follow the trail around the Dockyard
  • Look carefully for hidden ocean eggs
  • Match the egg to the sea creature on your trail sheet

Find all the eggs and return to the nesting ground to complete your rescue mission and receive a chocolate prize.

Tickets and Pricing

The Great Ocean Egg-sploration at Easter is included in your Dockyard admission ticket.
