Stitch Head with Guy Bass

11th July 2026

Join Stitch Head author Guy Bass for a fast-paced hour of stand-up, stories and silliness.

His energetic performances are designed to generate excitement about books, build confidence in reading and writing and spread a lot of laughter. Guy explores his childhood aspirations and inspirations, and includes animated readings from books plus tall tales, terrible poetry and a Q&A, followed by a book signing.

Recommended age 7+ Tickets for this event are charged on a pay-as-you-feel basis, starting at £4 per child and on a completely pay-as-you-feel basis for adults, but please note that each person attending will need a ticket. All money from ticket sales supports the running, continuation and expansion of Canterbury Children's Literature Festival and our year round outreach work within the local community.

About the Author Guy is an award-winning author, whose children's books series include Stitch Head (recently adapted as a major motion picture with a global cinema release), SCRAP, Skeleton Keys, Spynosaur and lots of books that don't start with 'S', like Hugh Dunnit, Anna Gain, Buck ‘n’ Bronco and Dinkin Dings. 'Dinkin Dings and the Frightening Things' is a Blue Peter Book Award winner for Most Fun Book with Pictures. Guy has been entertaining and inspiring children in schools, libraries and book festivals since 2008. He's written more than 40 books as well as plays for both adults and children. He lives in London with his wife and no dog, yet. Find out more and say hello at guybass.com
