The Duck Race is an annual event organised by the Rotary Club of Canterbury to raise money for good causes.
The Duck Race is an annual event organised by the Rotary Club of Canterbury to raise money for good causes. The event will take place on Sunday 20th September 2026 along a stretch of the River Stour by the Westgate Gardens (see map).
This year, two separate races will held. Firstly, a special corporate race, with about 300 toy ducks sponsored by local businesses. The main race will follow with up to 4,000 toy ducks sponsored by the public. The winners of both races will receive prizes.
There will be a pre-event reception at a nearby restaurant for VIPs including the civic team.
At 12.15 there will be a punt procession along the race route
At 12.45 the corporate ducks will be launched
At 13.00 the main race will start. Finish at about 13.30
