Morning Bird-watching Tours on K&ESR (6 May)

6th May 2026
Kent & East Sussex Railway

Join expert ornithologist David Campbell of Wildstarts for a morning bird song tour. You'll also have a great chance to spot some rare birds such as nightingales, turtle doves and cuckoos as you travel through the beautiful Wealden countryside.

Alongside your small group of fellow enthusiasts, board the train at Tenterden for an 07:30 departure along the line in a heritage diesel observation train with large windows offering great views of the surrounding countryside. The return trip will include at least 3 stops en-route, where you will be able to listen and watch out for a variety of different birds. Upon arrivng back at Tenterden, you can enjoy a delicious cooked breakfast in the Station Refreshment Rooms.

The price includes the return trip with expert insights, a KESR guide on board to tell you more about the landscape you are travelling through and a cooked breakfast with either tea or coffee. There is also the opportunity to use your ticket to travel the whole line to Bodiam by steam or diesel train - check the website for details of operating days and departures.
