Join us for a unique and creative workshop that blends traditional Japanese craftsmanship with iconic Scottish textiles.
In this hands-on session, you will learn the art of Kanzashi, the delicate technique of folding fabric to create decorative flowers, but with a special twist: instead of the usual paper, silk or cotton, you will be sewing with authentic Harris Tweed, the world-renowned handwoven wool cloth made exclusively in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland.
You will learn how to fold, shape and hand-sew fabric petals, resulting in the creation of 2 designs of Kanzashi flower, perfect as brooches, hair accessories or unique embellishments for hats, bags and dog collars. This workshop is designed for beginners and craft enthusiasts alike.
All materials, including a selection of colourful Harris Tweed and fastenings of your choice will be provided as well as tea, coffee and biscuits.
