Jack & Nancy’s Dockyard Adventure by Quentin Blake

2nd May - 30th June 2026

Step into a real‑life storybook at The Historic Dockyard Chatham as Jack and Nancy leap from the pages of Sir Quentin Blake’s much‑loved tale and into an unforgettable family adventure.

To mark World Book Day, Britain’s most loved illustrator, Sir Quentin Blake is bringing one of his best-known stories to life in a major new partnership with The
Historic Dockyard Chatham.

It’s a chance for young adventurers to follow the story of Jack and Nancy, a truly incredible story about two curious children who went on an amazing journey, to amazing places and saw amazing things.
This brand-new, interactive family trail, inspired by Quentin Blake’s iconic illustrations, blends the charm of the original story with the real-life ships, sounds, and historic spaces of the Dockyard.

You can dive into imaginative worlds, from battling stormy seas and discovering tropical islands to exploring an underwater world before learning real sailor skills aboard HMS GANNET.

Every young explorer receives their own Jack and Nancy Adventure Journal. Packed with illustrations, drawing spaces and hands‑on activities, it’s the perfect keepsake to remember your day long after your adventure ends.
