A public lecture by Professor John Guy and Julia Fox, authors of ‘Hunting the Falcon: Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and the Marriage That Shook Europe’
Preceded by a reception in the Lattergate Garden of King’s School at 6.30 Entrance via the Mint Yard Gate Professor John Guy is a British historian and biographer who specializes in, and has published extensively on, the Tudor period.
He has held posts at St Andrews University (where he is Honorary Professor), Bristol University, UC Berkeley, University of Rochester and Johns Hopkins. He currently teaches at Cambridge University, as a fellow of Clare College.
Julia Fox is an author and historical researcher who has published biographies on Jane Boleyn, Katherine of Aragon and Joanna of Castile. In tonight’s lecture this husband and wife team will discuss their latest collaboration ‘Hunting the Falcon: Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and the Marriage That Shook Europe’ (Bloomsbury Publishing, 2023), a critically acclaimed re-examination of the courtship and marriage of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn.
