Canterbury Children's Literature Festival

10th July - 12th July 2026

Discover how stories can take us to magical lands, help us save the world, and show us things we didn't know about ourselves.

Canterbury Children's Literature Festival returns for a second glorious year celebrating stories in all their forms with events for all ages, from babies through to teenagers from Friday 10th - Sunday 12th July 2026

Stories are about so much more than writing, and we are bringing together events with authors, illustrators, storytellers, and drama companies as well as completely unconventional events telling stories through music, treasure hunts, and even through yoga.

Taking place in various venues across Canterbury, Sturry and Herne, we create interactive, accessible events for all the family, and also provide a free programme of events to local schools and youth groups.

Our events are aimed to be as financially accessible as possible, with many offered for free or pay as you feel, and adult tickets provided on a pay as you feel basis for tiered ticket events.

Discover how stories can take us to magical lands, help us save the world, and show us things we didn't know about ourselves. Come and join the party! Browse the programme and book your tickets at www.canterburykidslitfest.co.uk
