Landscape

Dumpton Gap has a quiet, sandy bay with a concrete promenade and cafe kiosk.

It offers one of the best low-tide walking routes to Ramsgate, but always check the tide times before setting off...parts of the beach are completely cut off by the rising tide, and there is no way off the beach when this occurs (no promende or steps).

  • Seasonal Toilets
  • Disabled Access to the beach
  • Beach Chalets for hire (03333 660 661)
  • Cafe
  • Dogs welcome all year round
  • BBQs allowed only after 6pm. Please take rubbish & coals, etc away, and ensure they are fully extinguished

Be Beach Safe. This means checking the weather and the tides, keeping an eye on your family, and not using inflatables. In an emergency, call 999 for the Coastguard.

Please remember, if you are visiting our beaches and bays, 'Respect, Protect and Enjoy' and leave only your footprints.

Discover the Cross-Channel Geopark

The Cross-Channel Geopark is the world's first transnational geopark to span a body of water, linking the chalk landscapes of Kent with those of northern France in one continuous geological story. From the White Cliffs of Dover and the Kent Downs to the dramatic cliffs of Cap Blanc-Nez, the same chalk layers, fossils, and flint bands run beneath the Strait of Dover, connecting two countries that were once, quite literally, joined.
