Watch out for the beautiful resident Peacocks, which you may be lucky to see roosting in the summer evenings. Private fishing is also available ½ mile away over the estuary wall. Nearby, the small village of Upchurch boasts not only a general store and pub but a golf course too. The popular "River Valley" golf course, constructed on 120 acres of undulating parkland has testing greens offering golfers a truly challenging round. The clubhouse has an excellent restaurant and heated indoor swimming pool, available to families of golfers playing the course.
