Discover the Beasts of the Bayeux

Dates 24th October - 1st November 2026 11:00am - 3:00pm
Address Canterbury Cathedral, Canterbury, CT1 2EH, Kent, England, United Kingdom

About The Event

The Bayeux Tapestry has returned to the UK for the first time in 950 years, and is currently on display at the British Museum.

This 70-meter Medieval masterpiece is thought to have been made by embroiderers in Canterbury. But did you know that the Bayeux Tapestry features over 750 animals?

This half term, young explorers are invited to follow the Cathedral Creature Trail to discover animals depicted in stone and stained glass, have a go at embroidering their own beast of the Bayeux Tapestry, and more…

Activities vary - dates and details available online.

Half term activities are included free with a valid Cathedral Admission Ticket, Cathedral Pass or Friends’ Card. Kids go FREE every day! (T&Cs apply); does not apply to group bookings or school visits.
