About Biddenden Vineyards
Kent's Original Vineyard Biddenden has been owned and managed by the Barnes family since 1969. Today the vineyard is run by the second & third generations of the family, drawing on many years of experience in winemaking at Biddenden.
Twelve varieties of grape are grown across 25 acres of gentle south facing slopes, producing award-winning white, red, rosé, sweet and sparkling quality English wines. Ortega, Biddenden's signature wine, accounts for approximately half of the vineyard. Biddenden produces approximately 80,000 bottles of wine each year. All the grapes are grown on the estate, with all vineyard work & picking carried out by hand to ensure that the very best quality grapes are selected to produce Biddenden's wines.
Biddenden Cider is also made on site to the traditional Barnes family recipe, using locally grown culinary & dessert apples along with our range of Kentish juices: 100% Kentish fruit, no concentrate, and no artificial ingredients.
The Vineyard Shop is open year-round and well stocked with Biddenden’s own ranges alongside specially selected local & artisan food & drink products. From May - September, Self-Guided Tours run daily and include a guide booklet and tasting flight of 3 or 6 wines. No pre-booking required although you can also book online through the website.
For those wishing to learn more about Biddenden’s family vineyard history & winemaking techniques, pre-booked open and private tours are available daily from May – September with Behind The Glass production tours running in October and November and January - March.

Do I need to book a vineyard tour in advance?
Self-guided tours run daily from May to September and do not require pre-booking, although they can be booked online in advance. Guided and specialist tours should be booked ahead of your visit.
What is included in the self-guided vineyard tour?
The self-guided experience includes access to the vineyard route, an information booklet and a tasting flight of either three or six Biddenden wines, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace.
Can I visit the vineyard outside the main tour season?
Yes. The Vineyard Shop is open year-round, and visitors can also enjoy seasonal guided experiences, including Behind The Glass production tours held at selected times throughout the year.
What wines are produced at Biddenden Vineyards?
