This timeless beach with children's rides and nearby amusement arcades caters for families. Even if the tide is in there is still plenty of beach to make sand castles.

The boating pool located on Margate Main Sands is Grade II listed. Built in 1937 the main-made pool fills naturally as the tide comes in and was designed to give the public easier access to seawater swimming, as at low tide the shoreline can be more than 200m away. Today swimming and diving is not allowed as the pool has an uneven depth which constantly changes with the tides.
