The Pier Shop is open at weekends and displays many pictures of the History of the Pier which is of interest to those who love historic Piers. Retail units in the form of large Beach Huts have now been built on the Pier with more to be added. The traders sell all kinds of artisan items, there is a Vintage tea hut and other food stalls. Fun rides and a side stall for visitors to enjoy. Annual crabbing and sandcastle building competitions held usually during the Herne Bay Festival (August) attract lots of visitors. Musical entertainment and other events will be held to attract more visitors in the near future. The sunsets are amazing.
