We’re over the washing up already, and missing our local spots for a lovely meal, our go-to café for a coffee and cake and, of course, our tipple of choice at our favourite pub. We all need a little cheering up right now, so we're so excited that many of our favourite businesses are offering takeaways in line with the new government restrictions, so we get to enjoy them from the comfort of our own homes.

In line with the national lockdown, make sure you're keeping close to home and supporting businesses in your local area to help everyone stay safe during this difficult time. To discover more foodie hotspots on your doorstep, head to Help Kent Buy Local and check out their interactive map.

Date night in with The Foundry

Local favourite The Foundry Pub in Canterbury is open for click and collect or delivery, ready to provide you with your beverage of choice to make the date night special. Choose from a selection of beers and gins like their Canterbury Honey and Blackcurrent - and opt for a special Foundry glass for the real pub experience at home.

Finer Foods at Macknade

Foodies, we’ve got your new favourite! Macknade Fine Food stores in Faversham and new Elwick Road Ashford sites are open and ready to add some magic to your pantries! Artisanal breads, fancy sauces and a plethora of local goodies, it’s definitely one to check out if you live near the areas. Better still, their online store is open ready for shopping and hampers so you don't even need to pop in.

Pub grub at home with Shepherd Neame

The Kent institution of Shepherd Neame would never abandon the pub goers out there! Many of their pubs are open for takeaway meals, as well as a pint so you can still enjoy a sweet cold one. Find out which of your locals are still open (and trust us, there's a lot!) right here. The perfect evening out, in!

Winter wine time

With vineyards open for strolls and the wine to be found on your local supermarkets as well as ordered online, there’s so many ways to make the most of living in the Wine Garden of England. Whether you’re embracing the colder seasons with a deep red from Simpsons or having a little 'Friyay' celebration with something sparkling from Biddenden Vineyards or Gusbourne, we’ll be enjoying indulging responsibily.

Brew with a view

We’re so lucky that the beautiful gardens of many of our favourite historic houses like Leeds Castle, Hever Castle and Penshurst Place are open for our daily exercise this month. Whilst out for your stroll, why not enjoy a brew with a view? Their cafés are open for a hot drink to keep you warm on those wintery walks, and we can’t think of a better place to enjoy them!

Glorious Goods Shed

A haven of locally sourced fresh food with a array of colourful fresh fruit and veg, local fresh meats as well as spots for coffee and meals to go, The Goods Shed is a one-stop shop for bits to make those homemade meals that little bit tastier.

Cuppa joe to go

When an instant coffee just won't cut the mustard, head out and support your local independent cafes this winter. Whether you’re picking up a locally roasted coffee from Fringe and Ginge Canterbury, a vegan treat from Orchard Lane Coffee House Sandgate there’s a way to keep the weekend traditions going. Find your local coffee shops with Help Kent Buy Local and keep your #CaringCustomer pledge.

All around the world

Whilst travelling is hard, we’re trying to ‘travel with our tastebuds’ this lockdown as we try a new cuisine and support a local restaurant. Choose from authentic Japenese ramens from Happy Samurai, fall in love with Korean food from Korean Cowgirl Smokehouse or travel to India with The Ambrette

Treats from the outlet

Whilst the all non-essential retail stores remain closed during lockdown, luckily the resturants at McArthur Glen Ashford Designer Outlet are still here for your takeaways from Ashford. A cheeky burger from Barack Obama’s favourite burger joint Five Guys, your go-to dish from Wagamama’s or a mouth watering Krispy Kreme doughnut are all on the menu...

Never too cold for ice cream

Ice cream is obviously a summer essential, but we’re declaring it a lockdown essential too! For your at home movie nights or enjoying with a slice of crumble after Sunday lunch, Solley’s Kentish ice cream is certain to make the winter months a little bit sweeter.

Westerham Brewery

We're sure you'll agree, there's nothing quite like a freshly poured pint, and with Westerham Brewery's click and collect drive through service, you could soon be pouring your very own brews from one of their minicasks. Plus, with street food, including tapas, pizza and even moules on the menu to collect from Thursday to Sunday, you're in for one big weekend treat!
