A night out in the great outdoors
May is National Walking Month and, with its rolling countryside, miles of footpaths and striking views, Kent is perfect walking territory! So this month, we're lacing up our walking boots, grabbing the tent pegs and making the most of it with a night out under the stars at our favourite Camping and Caravanning Club sites. Better yet, our friends at Explore Kent have come up with some fantastic walks in Kent to tempt you out from under the canvas and onto the footpaths. Come on, let's get out into the great outdoors!
If you have that yearning to be beside the seaside, it doesn't get much closer than the Folkestone Camping and Caravanning site. Towering chalk cliffs and sea views make for a perferct weekend pit-stop and a pleasant walk from nearby Hythe to West Hythe will soon lead you from coast to countryside and along the banks of the historic Royal Military Canal.
A peaceful night awaits at Oldbury Camping and Caravanning site, which rests in woodland in the Kent Downs, near to the Oldbury Iron Age hill fort. Nearby, the historic Knole deer park awaits, along with a 4 mile trek into the park, beside the beautifully manicured gardens. Here you'll enjoy peace, quiet and meeting 500 or so antlered walking companions along the way!
