Kent’s Biggest Music Festivals 2020
Those crazy, hazy sunny days may seem like a long way away, but it's never too early to start planning for festival season...
Whether you like to converge on one big stage or hop from one pop up venue to another, Kent has an amazing range of music festivals lined up for 2020. With big name acts in rock, pop, ska, soul, folk and dubstep, you can enjoy a boutique boogie-fests by the sea or get lost in Neverland.
We don't know about you, but a festival just isn't a festival if you can't head back to a campsite and rest your legs after a long day of dancing in the sunshine - luckily, The Camping and Caravanning Club have got you covered for festival season, with three campsites in Kent so wherever you are, you'll be able to sleep the night away close by. Choose from Canterbury, Folkestone or Oldbury Hill and get in to the great outdoors whilst those balmy summer nights last!

2nd - 3rd May, Rochester
Dance through the streets of Rochester at this colourful revival. Once the only time of the year when the sweeps could escape the soot and celebrate, this vibrant festival is still just as central to Rochester’s annual calendar, offering a packed schedule of live music, more than 60 Morris sides and plenty of entertainment.

Pop the Mote
23rd May, Maidstone
Pop fans get ready! Pop the Mote has the UK’s best pop tribute acts, as well as children’s circus school and fairground and a celebration of foods of the world. Get ready to sing along in the sunshine to your favourite artists like Ed Sheeran, Take That and ABBA tributes!

Proms in the Park

Whatman Millennium River Park is providing the beautiful backdrop for this year’s Proms in the Park festival once again. 4th July, Gravesend
There’s a rumble in the jungle in Gravesend this July and it’s not coming from the animals! One of I’m a Celebs most-famous camp mates will be headlining The Riverside Festival in Gravesham this summer. Best known for his hits ‘Mysterious Girl’ and ‘Flava’, Peter Andre will be taking the centre stage in July, followed by performances from local acts and tribute bands such as Elite Elton, Moves like Jagger and The Stevie Wonder band!

Tonbridge Music Weekend
3th - 5th July, Tonbridge
Get ready for fun and music at Tonbridge Castle as some of the best tribute acts sing the songs you know and love! Sing and dance to your favourite Tina Turner and Spice Girl numbers to West End musical showtunes and disco anthems!
4th -5th July, Margate
Dreamland is a festival-goers heaven this summer! From the Soundcrash Funk and Soul Weekender to Foreverland Festival, they've got lots to explore down on Margate's bohemian coast this summer. Make sure to get your tickets for Dreamland's biggest event, HiTide - this year's line up includes Madness, Rudimental DJ Set and Fatboy Slim!
The Leeds Castle Classical Concert promises to be a highlight this festival season. Enjoy world-class music, captivating performers and fireworks, all set against the stunning backdrop of Leeds Castle - bring a picnic, bring the family, bring a candelabra! 11th July, Sevenoaks
Get your picnic blankets, mini scotch eggs and deck chairs at the ready to sing along to Music at the Mote this July. Sit back, unwind and dance away the evening as you listen to live music from professional three-piece band, Masterclass, in the grounds of the stunning, 14th century Ightham Mote.

Summer Band Concerts
14th July - 25th August, Tonbridge
These free summer concerts are taking place between 3pm and 5pm every Sunday, which makes it perfect for a family picnic whilst enjoying some fantastic music. Some of the bands already booked include The Soul Knights and Jon Hamilton Big Band, and the Invicta Jazz Orchestra! There's no need to book tickets - just turn up on the day and join the fun!
17th - 19th July, Maidstone
Rock fans, this one’s for you. Now in its sixth year, Ramblin’ Man has already been described by Classic Rock magazine as “the best new festival in Britain”, and has attracted the likes of White Snake, Black Stone Cherry, Zombies and Thin Lizzy in the last few years. If that doesn’t have you reaching for your tent and wellies, this year’s line-up will with music from the likes of City of Thieves, Those Damn Crows, Monster Trucks and Lynyrd Skynyrd, all on stage in the heart Mote Park.
30th July - 1st August, Hever
Just like the ability to never, ever grow up, this magical Kent festival is a well-kept secret, but unlike Peter Pan, you don’t need fairy dust or the ability to fly to get there. Join the Lost Boys in the Neverwoods, venture down to Skull Ridge and dare to face the pirates, but don’t forget to check out the soon-to-be announced line up in all the enchanted excitement.

A soul festival by the sea in one of Kent’s coolest coastal towns, sounds pretty good, right? Carnival street parties, outdoor live shows and an eclectic mix of nightlight all help make this festival one of the best summer events in Kent this year. Trust us, this one sells out quickly, so make sure you don’t miss out.
The ultimate rock and roll festival returns to Mote Park for another year this summer, with a jam-packed line-up full of the country’s top tribute bands, including performances from Muse, Queen, Green Day and many more! This event has been very popular with fellow rock and rollers so be quick, as Saturday’s early bird tickets have already sold out!

7th - 14th August, Broadstairs
Fifty five years of traditional folk music is right at the heart of Broadstairs Folk Week, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it stops there. With around 70 events every day, the week presents festival-goers the chance to discover new bands and dance along to a whole raft of music you would never expect to hear at a folk festival.
Pub in the Park
21st -23rd August, Tunbridge Wells
Pub in the Park returns to Dunorlan Park this July! It’s a chilled out celebration of food, drink and music in Tunbridge Wells, and this year their headliners include James Blunt, Craig David and Beverley Knight!

29th August, Maidstone
With an undoubtably funky line up including the likes of 80’s pop sensations Wet Wet Wet, Bananarama and ABC, you won’t want to miss out on Let’s Rock in Mote Park. This fabulous festival will include an array of bands from the decade, a variety of catering choices and a bar inside the venue, so you can enjoy a tipple or two as you get into the groove.

27th - 20th August, Faversham
Set against the backdrop of the 800-acre Mount Emphraim Gardens in Faversham, this rock, blues and roots festival is offering a sensational line-up this year. Seth Lakeman, John Lee's Barclay James Harvest and The Crazy World of Arthur Brown will be all be performing at the three-day festival. So, what are you waiting for? Margate Rhythm and Rock Festival
4th - 6th September, Margate
Following the success of its first year, the festival returns with acts including Alabama 3, Hawkwind, Wreckless Eric and more to be announced! Hear some amazing music, and discover your new favourite artist.

Margate Jazz Festival
18th - 20th September, Margate
Discover the incredible talented jazz artists in Margate this year at the Margate Jazz Festival! Expect to hear all kinds of fantastic jazz in a day of fun down at the seaside, from the best emerging talent to veterans of their trade.
It just wouldn’t be Kent without the famous Faversham Hop Festival, would it? In amongst the hopping heritage and local brews from Shepherd Neame (just a stone’s throw from the action) this free local favourite boasts a number of music stages and bands spread across the market town, ranging from folk and jazz to Morris and dance.
