Adventure and Adrenalin
Go wild at one of Kent's exhilarating attractions.
From a kids' days out to thrills for grown-ups, and from tree top fun and race track adventures, you'll find it all in Kent.
Wannabe racing-car stars can set their hearts pounding as they burn rubber round the kart track at Buckmore Park. With a wide range of speed machines, they cater for drivers ranging from 4 to 84. As you screech round the bends remember this is where Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button honed their skills.
For unforgettable forest adventures, Kent has two places to Go Ape. Traverse tree-top walkways, zip down zip wires and generally channel your inner Tarzan at Leeds Castle, near Maidstone and Bedgebury Forest, near Goudhurst.
Bedgebury's 2000-acre woodlands also offer an exhilarating 8-mile, single-track mountain bike trail, as well as 6 miles of family-friendly routes. While Cyclopark, near Dartford boasts skateparks, a first-class BMX track and a challenging 3-mile mountain bike trail studded with berms and drop-offs.
Or for an adventured-fuelled summer the kids will never forget, book them in to Camp Beaumont at Grosvenor Hall near Ashford. Then prepare for stories of its high-adrenaline activity park, triple zip wire, cinema, sports hall and swimming pool.
Quex Park has fun alternatives for all ages, with lots to see and do. The children will be particularly entertained with an indoor and outdoor play centre, a craft village, Paintball, build-a-base and the new Laser Rush.
You can get big thrills among the big beasts at the safari parks of Port Lympne Reserve, near Ashford and Howletts Wild Animal Park, near Canterbury. Look out for gorillas, big cats, elephants, rhinos and hosts of primates, from lemurs to baboons. Howlets also has its own high-ropes experience: Treetop Challenge.
And Kent's shores, lakes and rivers offer endless opportunities for water-sports adventures - from surfing, wind- and kite-surfing, to kayaking, sailing and jet-ski rides. See our dedicated Water Activities page.
