Fossil Hunting at Betteshanger Park
16th April - 17th April 2019
Thanks to our heritage as a former colliery, the Betteshanger site is perfect for fossil hunting. You’ll find plenty of fossils either lying on top of the spoil heap or by digging down into the spoil. This Easter holiday we’re running a number of fossil hunting sessions run by local geologist Andy Temple, member of The Geologists Association, Kent Geologists Group and Geoconservation Kent.
Sessions on 16 & 17 April at 10am, 11:15am, 12:30pm & 1:45pm. All tools, safety equipment and instruction are provided. You will be digging in the coal spoil so please be prepared to get dirty. Suitable for ages 6 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Baby changing facilities
£8 per person.
