Chiddingstone Castle, once the home of the Streatfeild Family, now houses the renowned collections of Denys Eyre Bower. Born in 1905, in Crich, Derbyshire, Denys Bower bought Chiddingstone Castle for £6,000 and opened it to the public. He left the Castle and Collections to the nation and a private charitable trust was established to keep the collections available to the public. Discover the fascination history within its walls and marvel at the exhibits of Japanese, Egyptian, Buddhist and Stuart and Jacobite artefacts.

Sit inside or outside in the sheltered courtyard and enjoy a light lunch or cream tea served at your table on vintage china.

Visitors and dogs may access the Tea Room from the grounds without paying admission to the Castle.

The gift shop is located in the old well tower and sells local produce, gifts, antiques and second hand books.
