Charing 10K - 10th Anniversary

On 7th June Charing Primary School will host its 10th annual 10K running race.

This Friday evening community event is a highlight in the village calendar and kicks off the summer season. Organised by the Parent Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) of Charing Primary in conjunction with Nice Work Race Organisers, the Charing 10K is expected to attract over 200 runners this year. Founded in 2009 as a school fundraiser, the event has grown over the past decade to become an anticipated, community-wide celebration in the Parish.

Organisers are planning a barbeque, refreshments, home-made cake sale, bouncy castle and other inflatables, and family activities. In addition to the adult 10K race, the event will feature a children’s race (fancy dress optional) and a young runner’s race. The 10K race uses chip timing and is suitable for beginners and experienced runners alike.

The course will begin and end at Charing Primary. Entrants will run through the village, along quiet country lanes, and atop the Pilgrim’s Way. Spectators will have a variety of family friendly activities to enjoy before, during, and after the race.

All event proceeds will go to Charing Primary School.
