A Pirate's Life For Me at The Historic Dockyards Chatham
25th May - 2nd June 2019
Ahoy there me hearties!
Join The Historic Dockyard Chatham this May for some swashbuckling fun!
Anchoring into the Dockyard is the latest exhibition from the V&A Museum of Childhood – A Pirate’s Life For Me. Straight from it’s home in London, the Dockyard is delighted to be the first venue for the tour of this exhibition, included in your annual ticket.
The exhibition makes a perfect day out for families wishing to explore a variety of Pirate collections - exploring the history and impact of Pirates in children’s culture through displays including toys, books, costumes, illustrations, games and photographs. Children can run around and burn off some energy whilst exploring the huge wooden Pirate ship – be the Captain and “steer the ship!” You’ll be sure to learn a Pirate trick or two and join the ranks!
In addition, during May half term (25th May – 2nd June), the Dockyard will be filled with Pirate activities for 3-10-year olds. Young buccaneers will begin their voyage with a series of exciting Pirate activities in order to meet the Captain at the end! Can you make a treasure map? How are your skills with using a telescope? If you don’t complete them all in one day, don’t worry, you can return as many times as you like using your annual ticket to do more another day!
