A guided walk around Old Hythe- ancient Cinque Port – celebrating 1,000 years of history. Take a leisurely walk around one of Kent’s hidden gems, guided by a member of Hythe Civic Society. Soak up the atmosphere in the historic High Street with its unique architecture; visit the Royal Military Canal, built to keep Napoleon at bay; enjoy the beauty of St Leonard’s Church and, as an extra, take in the historic bones in the crypt….and when the walk is over…we guarantee…You’ll like Hythe!
The tours run every Thursday from June 6th to September 26th.
Meet at the Town Hall, High Street, Hythe at 10.30am.
Cost £1 per person, Crypt £2.
Please allow 1 1/2 hours for the walk plus 45 minutes for Church and Crypt.
