European Cinema Evening Course at University of Kent

These five films are produced, directed and set in five different European countries. They portray singular stories and explore these individual narratives through the medium of different genres. Despite these differences, they all contribute to inform a larger contemporary debate on the notion of community and our individual or collective reactions to its perceived threats. This evening course examines links between cinema, politics, and society in contemporary Europe. All films are screened in their original language with English subtitles.
