Great Places to Stay in Kent this Winter

Superb accommodation choice

Hotel du Vin

Whatever your tastes and budget, Kent can offer just the right accommodation for you. And with our on-line booking service, it's easier than ever to organise that winter break.

Snuggle down in an oast house, feel instantly at home from home in quaint B&Bs or farmhouses (smell that sizzling local bacon for breakfast!). Or enjoy the hospitality of historic pubs and gourmet restaurants with rooms, such as the 15th Century White Horse Inn in Faversham with original beams, and the award winning restaurant and accommodation at Dunkerleys in Deal. If you're on a slightly tighter budget this Christmas, unwind and relax in one of Kent's best budget hotels.

Cosy pubs

Simple pleasures are often the best and winding down in a cosy Kent pub in village or town is one of them. Stay the night, toasting your toes by an inglenook fireplace, tucking into hearty local food - it's the perfect weekender. Pub grub and B&B can be light on the pocket, too.

Dog & Bear Hotel

Family-run Shepherd Neame, Britain's oldest brewer of award-winning ales, has characterful inns with accommodation at locations right across Kent. How about The Millers Arms at Canterbury and some sightseeing? Or laze beside the log fire in the oak-beamed Dog and Bear at Lenham. Discover the picturesque village of Chilham when you overnight at the 15th-century Woolpack Inn. They all serve seasonal Garden of England fare and Shepherd Neame's traditional Kentish ales.

Combine a stay at The Sun Inn, Faversham, with a tour and tastings at Shepherd Neame's nearby brewery. Don't forget to stop but the shop to buy your own Spitfire, Bishops Finger or Masterbrew to take home. They also run a range of Beer and Food Evenings.

Bedroom at the Bell Hotel

A little piece of luxury

Unwind at the Rowhill Grange Hotel & Utopia Spa, with fine dining and stunning views over the glorious Kent countryside, surrounded by 15 acres of private grounds with rolling lawns, manicured gardens and a small lake with a family of ducks and black swans.

For a historic treat head to the pretty medieval town of Sandwich and book into The Bell Hotel, situated on the quayside. The luxury rooms are equipped with Egyptian cotton sheets, fluffy towels and spa therapy toiletries. Enjoy seafood and fish straight from Sandwich Bay in the restaurant.

Take in the sea air at The White Cliffs Hotel, a beautiful, traditional Kentish weather boarded Inn, parts of which date back to Elizabethan times. The hotel has a stylish, contemporary feel without compromising the charm of the delightful historic building. In winter, guests can warm themselves by the roaring log fire.

Holiday Inn - Ashford Central

Budget accommodation

Make the most out of your trip by enjoying Kent's best attractions followed by a relaxing overnight stay in a low-cost hotel. An ideal chance to settle down after a busy day, without breaking the bank!

No matter where you are, quality, value-for-money accommodation is nearby. Budget youth hostels can be found in both town and countryside, for example just a 10 minute walk from Canterbury city centre you will find a beautiful Victorian villa, Canterbury Youth Hostel. The Ashley Guest House in Canterbury is also a high quality, low-cost option. Premier Inns are popular choices for affordable accommodation, and can be found throughout Kent, including Maidstone, Folkestone, Tonbridge, Dover and Margate.

Larger hotel chains, such as Holiday Inn have special offers and winter sales. These offers can all be found and booked directly through their own websites. The Holiday Inn chain operates many hotels in Kent locations such as Sevenoaks, Ashford, and Rochester.

Perhaps consider choosing self-catering accommodation this winter. Tasty home cooked meals are the perfect way of saving a little extra this season, and mouth-watering local produce can be bought on one of the many Kentish farmers' markets, like the Goods Shed in Canterbury.
