From within the UK

By Air

Manston, Kent's International Airport provides direct access to Kent with flybe.com flights from Edinburgh, Belfast, Kirkwall and Sumburgh, alternatively London Gatwick and London Heathrow are the two major airports closest to Kent.

Arriving at Manston
Manston, Kent's International Airport is located two miles west of Ramsgate on the Thanet Peninsula of north-east Kent and is just a short drive away from all of Kent's main attractions.

From Gatwick
If you are hiring a car then from Gatwick follow the M23 onto the M25 and the follow the directions for south bound, it will normally take around 40 minutes to get into the centre of Kent. If you don't wish to hire a car then you can always catch the Gatwick Express into London Victoria and then hop on a train into Kent.

From Heathrow
If you are hiring a car from Heathrow then follow the directions for south bound also, it normally takes 1 ½ hours to get into the centre of Kent. Equally you can catch the Heathrow Express which takes 15 minutes to get into London Paddington and then you can link via the underground to catch a train to Kent.

By Car and Coach

If you have never been to Kent before the best way to get into the county from anywhere in the UK is to head to London first then once on the M25 there are two directions into the county.

From the North and East
If you are coming from the North you will cross the Dartford bridge which has a toll charge. Once across this bridge you will be in the county of Kent. You can join the M2 or carry down a little further to connect with the M20.

From the South and West
If you're coming from the South or the West continue along the M25 until you reach the M26 this will then connect you with the M20. Equally you can stay on M25 and connect with the M2.
For more in depth directions into specific destinations within the county please visit AA route planner. Or sit back on a National Express coach, operating from London's Victoria Coach Station to many towns across Kent.

By Train

Again the easiest way to get into Kent by train is to go through London and connect with Southeastern trains. London Bridge, Charing Cross, London Waterloo East and Victoria are the main four stations in London that run regular services into Kent. It will normally take you around 2 hours from London to the coast by train. For more details on tickets and timetables please visit Southeastern railway.
