Emergencies

If you are ever in need of the emergency services while on your visit please dial 999 and you will be put through to an operator who will be able to forward you to the appropriate emergency service regarding your location and emergency. The 999 service is for state wide and should only be used for extreme emergencies.

Couple with doctor

If you become ill while on your visit we strongly suggest that you visit a chemist/pharmacy for advice before visiting the hospital. Most chemists can be found in town centres. The pharmacist will be able to provide most medicines and prescriptions as long as you have a note from your doctor. Otherwise they will only be able to give you advice on different methods to use such as non prescription medicines. For more information on the UK health service or medical advice please visit NHS (National Health Service) website.

Policeman (Visit Britain)

Safety in the UK is quite high in comparison to International standards with a low rate of crime. However we strongly advise that you still take every precaution that you would in any other European country making sure that you and your processions are safe at all times. Here are a few tips to remember whilst on your visit:

    • At night times try to stay as a group, do not walk off alone.
    • Keep your handbag within sight at all times, do not leave it anywhere easy to reach.
    • When leaving posessions in your room make sure they are securely locked away.
    • And most of all have a good time and don't go looking for trouble.

We advise that you take adequate insurance cover so that you are well protected if anything should happen. Please ask your travel agent/ tour operator for more details.
