Accessible accommodation
Kent - accessible for all
Kent strives to be accessible to everybody and offers a wide range of facilities to welcome visitors with impaired mobility, hearing, or eyesight.
Accommodation
The choice of accessible guest accommodation, B&B's, hotels, self catering properties, hostels and camping and caravanning sites is expanding, as providers strive to meet the needs of all visitors. From the supply of ramps and disabled parking, to the provision of disability awareness training for staff, Kent is increasingly meeting specific needs.
You can search for accessible accommodation that meets your individual requirements, utilising the National Accessible Scheme (NAS) visual, hearing and mobility categories. Find out more about the NAS scheme.
You can also search for self assessed accessibility information provided by the properties themselves. Please note, these properties have not been NAS assessed.
Attractions
Attractions and restaurants in Kent are increasingly commiting to accessibility, with many working hard to ensure there is a welcome for all. The Disability Discrimination Act requires attractions to take 'reasonable steps' to avoid discrimination against people for reason of their disability, including the removal wherever possible of physical barriers. However, what is 'reasonable' is open to much interpretation, and we advise that visitors research their destination beforehand.
You can browse restaurants, attractions and leisure parks with accessibility facilities on our website using the 'advanced search' boxes.
Walks and trails
From city heritage trails to countryside walks, we want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy Kent beautiful scenery, varied landscapes and rich history.

Southeastern - Train Travel
Southeastern Railway is Kent's network rail provider, running services to and from over 90 railway stations in Kent. They have produced an Accessibility Guide which provides guidance on where you can get help and assistance with your journey requirements and the facilities you can expect to find on their trains and stations. The guide is useful for passengers planning and making a journey on Southeastern, whether they are disabled, travelling with small children and pushchairs, pregnant, or just carrying lots of shopping or luggage.
Southeastern also have a Station Access Guide, detailing whether there are steps, toilets, staff etc at all stations across the Southeastern Network.
