Escape into Kent's marvellous outdoors! Horse riders can enjoy ancient droveways and routes through the Downs or the bridleways and byways of Shoreham Woods and Kemsing Downs near Sevenoaks. Share a break with likeminded people at Cobham Manor Equestrian Centre or Kent Downs Outdoor Centre, both at Thurnham.
There are so many activities to blow away the cobwebs, like cheering the horse-racing at Folkestone. Why not treat yourself to a few rounds of golf - Kent has 90-plus courses, both scenic and challenging. At Bewl Water you can fly-fish for top quality trout or go sailing with expert instructors.
Have a go at skiing and snowboarding on the dry slopes at Folkestone and Chatham or go rock climbing at Leyswood. Watch Superbike and Touring Car Championships at Brands Hatch, or perhaps enjoy your own driving experience of a lifetime. Alternatively try go-karting at Buckmore Park.
Bird watchers will love Dungeness nature reserve which occupies nearly 1,000 hectares of the Dungeness peninsula, the largest shingle formation of its kind in Europe. Here you can spot species ranging from Bitterns to Slavonian grebes.
