Stay in the Garden of England

With an increase in visitors to the London area and high demand expected in the City during the summer, where better to stay than the Garden of England - close enough to the action but far enough away from the hustle and bustle.

Kent has a wealth of accommodation available for the summer, from hotels and boutique establishments, to B&Bs, camping and self-catering properties. Browse our comprehensive accommodation pages for more inspiration and availability.

The Camping and Caravanning Club has also set up a temporary camping site at Gravesend Rugby Club during the summer. The site is ideally located, with facilities to keep all family members entertained. A second site at Culverstone Recreation Ground offers quieter, more relaxing surroundings. The event campsites, which include shower/toilet facilities and clubhouses, will operate between Friday 20 July 2012 and Thursday 16 August 2012 inclusive and will cater for all camping units under normal Club rules.

Both locations are close to Ebbsfleet International Station, the official 'park and ride' site from Kent to the Olympic Park. High-speed services will operate continuously with a journey time of approximately 10 minutes. Camping starts from £30 a night, based on a minimum three-night stay. To book, please call the Membership Contact Centre on 0845 130 7633 or 024 7647 5426, or visit the Camping and Caravanning Club website.

For a stay with a difference, lodge in a family house during the summer in Westerham, a picturesque village not far from the Olympic Park. The Westerham Homestay programme allows visitors to stay in a resident's house and enjoy comfortable home living while visiting the county.
