Explore Kent gives a selection of ideal riding routes across the county. Kent's varied countryside is well suited to all types of horse activity, whether you bring your own horse or hire one, whether you have a few hours or a few days to spare.
There are more than 30 TROT routes in Kent alone, on farm and forestry land which operate a permitted system of off-road riding for horse riders and carriage drivers. Most of the routes connect to bridle paths or byways. Visit the Kent Downs website which has a section on visiting the Kent Downs and some additional information on downland rides.
Whether you hire a horse or bring your own, there is something for everyone, from fun lessons for children to high quality dressage and jumping tuition for the more experienced rider.
For experienced riders, why not take a horse riding holiday. Have Horse Will Travel offer guided rides across the North Downs, whilst Honnington Riding Centre provide competition training holidays, and Rawhide offer Western stle trekking.
After hacking in the Kent countryside, why not stop off for a rest at some of Kent's horse friendly pubs recommended by riders.
