Kent's Culture Coast
This summer, come and find your own piece of coastal Kent, and while you're at it, be prepared to stumble upon some cultural surprises, because from Whitstable to Dungeness, there's a whole world of artistic expression just waiting to be discovered.
The jewel in the crown of the ‘creative coast' this summer is undoubtedly the fantastic Folkestone Triennial. It's being talked about as the ‘must-see' contemporary art event of the summer, and Tales of Time and Space will see the work of acclaimed and emerging artists including Mark Wallinger, Tracey Emin and Jeremy Deller.
When it comes to musical expression, Broadstairs Folk Week is well worth a look, along with Margate's Big Sky Jazz festival. Perhaps the best combination of local food, culture, and coast is the Whitstable Oyster Festival when over 75,000 visitors will cram the streets to take in the unrivalled variety of entertainment.
