Cool Kent

Concert

It's time you discovered the cool side to Kent. When the sun comes out to play, so do the music fans, and this year they'll be flocking to Kent to see and hear some of the biggest names in music. Madonna, Usher, Mark Ronson, Athlete, Primal Scream, the Hoosiers, The Kooks, Rufus Wainwright and 60's legend Neil Young will all be gracing Kent's stages this summer, whilst in pubs across the county music lovers will be treated to the very best in live, local music.

Jools Holland, Rochester Cathedral

In May, Maidstone welcomed Madonna, Usher, and 60,000 concert-goers for Radio 1's Big Weekend. It kicked off the summer festivals for the entire country and it was the perfect opportunity to show the rest of the UK Kent's very own brand of cool. But it doesn't end there, because in July Mark Ronson and Athlete will delight music and animal lovers alike at Port Lympne's Z008 festival, Neil Young and Primal Scream will rock the Hop Farm, followed by the exceptional Lounge on the Farm' festival at Merton Farm near Canterbury where Billy Childish and The Bees are playing.

Noise Ensemble

But whilst the big names catch much of the attention, it's important not to forget the kind of performers who make you stare in disbelief at their exceptional abilities - and they'll be out in force during Medway's Fuse Festival.
