Howletts Wild Animal Park

Discover A World Of Conservation And Family Days Out At Howletts

Howletts Wild Animal Park, offers visitors the chance to experience real conservation, throughout the year, whilst enjoying a memorable family day out.

Howletts is a breeding sanctuary for some of the most rare and endangered species in the world.  With over 400 animals across 50 individual species, plus plenty of new births and arrivals, visitors have the opportunity to see animals at Howletts that they won’t see anywhere else in Kent.

Home to the world’s largest collection of critically endangered western lowland gorillas and the largest herd of African elephants in the UK, visitors can get up close to Amur tigers, Northern Chinese leopards, lions and wolves in their glass fronted enclosures and see snow leopards in their large open top and open sided enclosure, plus in Walking With Lemurs, get really close to these curious primates, as the Madagascan favourites explore the branches overhead.

Set in 100 acres of historic parkland, there are wooded walkways and pathways to explore and fun and fact filled animal talks taking place at various times throughout the year, so there’s plenty for all ages to discover and enjoy.

Visitors can also try their hand at the exciting Treetop Challenge – an obstacle course, set high in the trees with rope bridges, tyre curtains, cargo nets and zip wires.  Younger adventurers can enjoy the Animal Adventure Challenge featuring slides, swings and more

One of the County’s most popular visitor attractions, Howletts has conservation at its heart. Visitor monies help fund the park’s vital work with endangered species and enable the park to return animals back to protected areas of the wild, in conjunction with The Aspinall Foundation.

Throughout the year visitors can take advantage of special events at Howletts, including fun activities, animal enrichment and other seasonal events, all included in the price of the ticket and those who book online prior to their visit can also save 10% off the standard day ticket price! Visitors can also make the day extra special by booking additional activities, including talks by our Education Presenters, Animal Encounters and Photography Days.
