Big Cat Sanctuary
Wildlife Heritage Foundation
The Wildlife Heritage Foundation is an animal conservation charity and was established to co-ordinate the managements and operation of the Big Cat Sanctuary which is part of the European Endangered Species Programme which helps to save some of the World's most endangered Bit Cats from extinction.
Based in Smarden, Kent, we are a 34 acres site housing over 50 big and small cats from the World's smallest, the Rusty Spotted cat to the most endangered, the Amur Leopard which has fewer than 35 left if the wild worldwide. Our aim is ultimately to assist in the re-introduction programmes of big cats to their natural habitat, in a protected environment.
We are not open to the public except on our annual open days in July (pre-booking required) but you can pre-book a special visit including:
- Big Cat Encounter
- Ranger for the Day
- Big Cat Adoption
- Photographic Workshops
- Overnight Big Cat Safari in our luxury lodges
For more information on these special visits please visit our website.
This year our Christmas Gift Shop is open to the general public from Monday November 7 until Friday December 23. You’ll be able to visit us from 10 until 2 each day, 7 days a week and enjoy a bit of big cat retail therapy! Please note that there is no admission to the Big Cats at this time.
