The Ship & Trades

One of the jewels in Shepherd Neame's crown, The Ship & Trades is a spacious and stylish pub with bars and accommodation overlooking one of the yacht basins on the impressive redevelopment of the former Royal Naval Dockyard known as Chatham Maritime.

Dating from 1875, the Ship and Trade's basic structure is a steel frame that housed dockyard offices and an engineering shop. Today, the 'skeleton' has been totally transformed. With a bar menu the Ship & Trades will bring a combination of good food, drink and accommodation (11 en-suite bedrooms) to businesses and local residents. A lift is available for easy wheelchair access to both floors.

Explore the area, an excellent base for visiting the many local attractions and local towns of Gillingham and Rochester. Within a very short walking distance of the Ship and Trades are The Dockside Outlet Shopping Centre, www.docksideoutlet.co.uk - Dickens World www.dickensworld.co.uk, the new themed entertainment visitor attraction based upon the life, times, books and characters of Charles Dickens, which features a Dickensian Shopping Mall, together with a multitude of attractions and rides and the Odeon Cinema Multiplex – www.odeon.co.uk with 9 screens. Close to the Historic Dockyard Chatham, www.chdt.org.uk - venue for many events and historic celebrations.

The Ship & Trades was voted Shepherd Neame Managed Pub of the Year 2011 and Shepherd Neame pub of the year 2012.
